In May of 2015 Karen’s last big birthday party was held at the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow. Old friends, family, former colleagues and students – including those who were recently awarded the Karen Finch Bursary by the TCC foundation – and local friends from Walthamstow all came to celebrate with Karen.

One of the highlights of the day was a speech delivered by Edward Maeder, a former student of Karen’s, who had flown over from America for the party. The photo below shows him in his ‘banyan’ which he made himself.

Another highlight was the speech given by Karen’s sister Ruth.
