Members of the Selskabet for Kirkelig Kunst (The Society of Ecclesiastical Art) had been recommended by a Danish friend of Karen’s, Lone de Hemmer Egeberg, to visit Karen’s home in Walthamstow, where they could enjoy viewing Karen’s gold collection. The group consisted of Lizzi Damgaard (manager and embroiderer), Berthe Bramsen (embroiderer), Anne Nielsen (secretary) and Sophie Bramsen (tailor). They were very excited to see the collection and it was a very joyful occasion.
An article was published in Rapporter magazine (no. 3) by the embroiderers about their visit to Walthamstow. We don’t currently have a copy of the article but we hope to add it to the website in the future.
